Show your gratitude for the blessing of good health while simultaneously making a difference to the charities supported by the Distance For Difference (D4D) non-profit organisation, by joining this year’s GRATITUDE Run.
Hosted by D4D, based in Somerset West, the bi-annual run features different entry options to accommodate different fitness levels and all ages.
“We invite all runners and walkers to join us for a day of memorable fun and laughter, some exercise, breathtaking scenery and the company of other difference-making people. If you take part in the GRATITUDE Run, you are positively impacting the future of vulnerable children. I hope to welcome you there,” said Stéphan Pieterse, D4D founder and chairman.
The run will raise funds to support various children’s charities, including Tzadokah Foster Home, Sylvia’s House, Kingdom Kids, Esther van Zyl Foster Care, Gabriella Centre, Little Angels and others.
The Esther van Zyl Foster Care, a registered place of safety, cares for foster children and has been supported by D4D since 2017.
Esther spoke on how support from D4D has made an impact on her situation and that of the foster children in her care. “If it was not for D4D, we will definitely not be able to survive financially and therefore I want to say again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Kin Culture, another non-profit organisation, based in Klapmuts, Stellenbosch and committed to improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children, is another beneficiary of D4D support.
“Thank you to the entire D4D team’s compassionate support in changing the lives of vulnerable children. Your generous contribution has a profound impact that extends across generations, touching not just individual children but also shaping a brighter future beyond our immediate understanding,” the organisation said.
Runners will this year get to choose between participating in a 5km fun run, to be enjoyed at their own pace; a 10km trail run, featuring an adventurous route through picturesque trails; a team relay run, where teams can be mixed, only men or only women, and must run as many 3km laps as possible within four hours.
Tacia Roux, from Distance4Difference, invited people to join in on the fun. “We’re excited to see you at the GRATITUDE Run 2024 and look forward to a memorable and impactful event.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for team-building and fund-raising. Gather your team, set your goals, and enjoy a day of camaraderie and giving back, all while supporting a worthy cause.”
Medals will be awarded to the top team in each category. The GRATITUDE run will take place on Saturday November 2, at Dornier wines in Stellenbosch. Tickets are available at Quicket.
