Yesterday I was listening on CapeTalk to Helen Zille and John Maytham discussing the extreme lack of quality education, particularly in township schools in the Cape and all over South Africa.
This is why we are in financial difficulties.
We never budgeted for the expenditure that we are now facing because we have to send our kids to schools outside the township.
Overcrowding and a lack of well-trained teachers are the reason for bad results in township schools.
The SA government has betrayed the children who need it most.
Everybody agrees the only solution to poverty and inequality is education.
Madiba mentioned it in many speeches. Only the higher income groups can afford better education, ie former model-C schools, that will enable school leavers to compete in the job market.
