Great fun was had on Saturday September 8 as 17 teams participated in the Fish Hoek 100 and Beyond Scavenger Hunt Experience.
The participants wore different costumes and vibrant colours that added to the jovial atmosphere of the day as they competed in an Amazing Race-style event.
Each team of four was handed an envelope containing clues to wacky tasks, ranging from singing karaoke, doing the Mexican wave with complete strangers and finding strange objects positioned around the peninsula.
Each team had to complete as many tasks as possible and return to the finish line by 4pm.
The team that completed the most tasks and earned the most bonus points in the allotted time would be the winners and walk away with the Fish Hoek 100 and Beyond floating trophy, designed and donated by local sculptor and trophy maker Eric Tollner. The day ended at the Life Saving Club, with some boerewors rolls, refreshments and a prize-giving ceremony, where Team Oh Dear walked away with the spirit award, Team WWWF won some fun prizes as runners-up and the Daxie Divas were crowned the first Fish Hoek Scavenger Hunt Experience champions and won the trophy.
Proceeds from the day will support security initiatives in the valley and the pet food collected by competing teams will be donated to The Emma Animal Rescue Society (TEARS.)
