A Fortnite movie may soon be in the works

Epic Games has reportedly floated the idea of a Fortnight feature-length film.

This comes on the heels of the video game company attempting to diversify their offerings. According to The Information, Epic Games wants to expand into an entertainment division focused on scripted video content.

While nothing has been formalised, the idea for the entertainment division came as Epic hired three executives from Lucasfilms at the beginning of this year. One of them includes Jason McGatlin, former VP of physical production at the Star Wars studio. He has now been appointed as the head of special projects at Epic.

While information about a Fortnite film has so far just been hearsay, the idea isn’t too far-fetched. The company has close ties with Hollywood (which can be seen from their recurring Marvel tie-ins to action-packed 80s throwbacks), meaning a total saturation of Epic’s battle royale may only be a matter of time.
