Fostering the growth of chiropractic care

Durban — The Chiropractic Association of South Africa (Casa) hosted its much-anticipated annual congress, themed “Basics and Beyond”, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in uMhlanga recently.

The event, organised by the KwaZulu-Natal branch of Casa, brought together chiropractors and industry professionals from across the globe to engage in research-based discussions and networking opportunities, while fostering the growth of chiropractic care within South Africa and beyond.

The congress featured a variety of in-depth talks from leading experts in the field, with a key focus on foundational and advanced topics. Attendees had the opportunity to gain insight into the latest research, innovative techniques and holistic approaches to patient care.

Dr Ricardo Fujikawa, the keynote speaker, delivered a compelling presentation that left the audience inspired and equipped with new perspectives on chiropractic care.

Complementing the academic content were various social events, designed to encourage collaboration and community-building among the delegates. The highlight of the weekend was a memorable gala dinner, with comedian Carvin Goldstone entertaining attendees and contributing to the festive spirit.

Adding to the weekend’s excitement was the official launch of Casa’s new mascot, Vertebro, designed for the upcoming World Spine Day campaign. Vertebro aims to raise awareness about spinal health and the importance of chiropractic care in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

In a show of Casa’s commitment to giving back, more than R30 000 was raised for its charity initiative, Casa Cares, supporting chiropractic students as well as communities and furthering Casa’s mission.

Awards were presented to outstanding practitioners during the gala dinner, recognising excellence and dedication within the field of chiropractic care.

This annual congress is one of Casa’s flagship events and continues to invite chiropractors and health-care professionals from around the world to participate in meaningful discussions and share advancements in chiropractic practice.
