WONKA! comes alive at The Playhouse Theatre as part of Helderberg Academy of Theatre’s (HAT) showcase of the children taking drama class, from Thursday March 6 to Saturday March 15.

Adapted from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and Chocolate Factory, this time honoured classic is filled with poetry, wit and very colourful characters.

This production shows us the journey of poor boy Charlie Buckett (Caleb Haefele), which becomes a delicious tale of 5 young Golden Ticket winners and the mysterious confectionary wizard, Willy Wonka.

This dazzling new production will take you to a world of pure imagination.

Directed by Darryl Spijkers and assisted by Zane Habig and Zain Cassiem – the show is sure to entertain you with a local cast of enthusiastic children.

HAT has given us Charlotte’s Web (2022), 101 Dalmatians (2023) and Peter Pan (2024) as part of the annual children’s productions but they also present regular musicals and workshops.

Tickets are available on WebTickets and the show is suitable for the entire family. Evening shows start at 7pm and matinees at 3pm.
