Spring is the perfect time to give your feet some TLC after a long winter.
A pedicure is a great way to pamper yourself and ensure your feet are ready for sandals and open-toed shoes.
While you can always head to a salon, doing a pedicure at home is simple and can be quite relaxing.
Here’s an easy way you can get soft and smooth feet at home.
Before you begin, this is what you will need:
Fill a basin with warm water and add your favourite foot soak. Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes to soften the skin.
Use a pumice stone or foot file to gently remove dead skin from the heels and soles of your feet. Be careful not to scrub too hard.
Apply an exfoliating scrub to your feet and massage in circular motions. This will help to remove any remaining dead skin and improve circulation.
Gently push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher. Avoid cutting them, as this can lead to infection.
Clip your toenails straight across to prevent ingrown toenails. File the edges smooth.
Apply a generous amount of moisturising foot cream to your feet. Massage the cream in until it is fully absorbed.
If you want to add a touch of colour, apply a base coat, colour coat, and top coat to your toenails. Allow the polish to dry completely before putting on socks or shoes.
If you don’t know what colour to paint your toenails and are bored of using white, then here are a few trendy colours you should try this spring.
Lavender is a soft and feminine shade that evokes feelings of tranquility.
Baby blue is a classic and timeless choice that is both elegant and cheerful.
If you’re looking for a vibrant and energetic colour try coral.
Try fuchsia if you’re into bold and dramatic shades.
Neon yellow is a fun and playful colour that is perfect for a spring look.
Any nude tone is perfect for those looking for something more understated.
