A woman’s attempt to call out another passenger’s disapproving stares on a flight backfired after she shared a video of herself combing her long hair in the business class cabin.
The original clip, posted by influencer @adeola_fm, was later deleted but resurfaced on the Instagram page @blackvoyageurs.
In the overlay caption, the influencer wrote, “Me in business class minding my business while aunty gives me nasty stare.”
The video shows her brushing her hair and tying it up in a bonnet while seated in the business class cabin.
Nearby, an older blonde woman looks on with visible disapproval.
Though the influencer seemed to share the video expecting viewers to empathise with her, the reaction was far from supportive.
Instead, most people criticised her for brushing her hair in the cabin rather than in the bathroom, noting that it was inappropriate in such a confined space.
“You don’t brush your wig in public, especially in tight spaces with food around—it’s distasteful… no pun intended,” one commenter remarked.
Another added, “She’s brushing her hair in a tight space where people are about to eat. Anyone would’ve been staring her down too. Do it in the bathroom next time… it’s tacky!”
“She was minding her business until you set up your camera and started brushing your hair in a small space where others are eating. You’re not at home in your bedroom! You might be in ‘business class,’ but your actions show that you have no class,” another critic wrote.
“Miss Ma’am, there’s a bathroom in first class big enough for all that,” quipped another viewer.
The clip, instead of generating sympathy, sparked a broader conversation about etiquette and personal boundaries in public spaces, particularly during air travel.
