Rolls Royce Ghost II refined and modernised for 2024
The Rolls Royce Ghost II, the second iteration of the Phantom’s smaller sibling which has been in production since 2020, has been given a raft of updates aimed at upping the ante of craftsmanship and luxury.
The British car company says the updated model is more closely aligned with its sheer “monolithic” design approach than ever, with newly designed headlights seemingly dwarfed by an imposing new “Pantheon” grille that is now illuminated in line with today’s trends.
At the back end, new tail lamps take inspiration from the Spectre, while the side view is enhanced by a pair of new 22-inch, 9-spoke wheel designs, in full-polished and part-polished guises.
Buyers can choose between over 44,000 possible bespoke colour combinations, but Rolls Royce takes some delight in highlighting its new Mustique Blue exterior hue, inspired by the Carribean island that it’s named after. Says Rolls Royce, it uses glass and mica flakes to create a shimmer designed to mimic sunlight reflecting from the sea.
Beneath its imposing bonnet the new Rolls Royce Ghost carries over its predecessor’s 6.75-litre V12 petrol engine in a move that certainly goes against the grain in today’s increasingly electrified, downsizing era.
It sends power to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, while the model’s air suspension, which uses cameras to read the road ahead, ensures the kind of ‘waftability’ that you’d usually expect from a Rolls Royce.
Inside Rolls Royce has crafted some distinctive new details, including a clock cabinet on the dashboard, in which an analogue timepiece is held up by an illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. The passenger side of the fascia is also illuminated like the night sky.
Along with new trimmings and material choices, the cabin of the revised Ghost boasts significantly upgraded entertainment and connectivity, with rear passengers now able to connect up to two streaming devices to the rear screens. A newly developed interface also manages functions such as massaging, heating and cooling.
The 18-speaker audio system has been enhanced too, now incorporating a 1400-watt amplifier. Two active microphones in the cabin constantly monitor the balance of frequencies, allowing the amplifier to automatically optimise the sound quality.

Our clients asked for a design that would provide a stage for their Bespoke colour and material choices, whether quiet and restrained or bold and expressive,” said Juliane Blasi, Head of Exterior Design.
“In line with their requirements, Ghost Series II is characterised by meaningful refinements that further enhance the motor car’s standing as a potent canvas for creativity.”
