Mandela Day drive

YOLANDE DU PREEZ|Published

False Bay Hospital Trust, in partnership with Sandi’s Bistro, and the CareCompany, is collecting toiletries and bags for its Mandela Day Drive on Monday July 18. False Bay Hospital Trust chairman Jonathan Mills said many emergency patients arrived at the hospital with “only the clothes on their backs” and, in many cases, their stay at the hospital was longer than a day. The aim, he said, was to provide them with basic toiletries to use during their recovery. Toiletry bags with soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and facecloths can be dropped off at Sandi’s Bistro in Valyland. Alternatively, loose items can also be donated if a complete bag cannot be provided.
