There will be a memorial service for Melanie Stenger on Sunday February 12.
The body of a 56-year-old woman from Clovelly who went missing last month has been found, according to Fish Hoek police.
Melanie Stenger was last seen at Spar in Valyland on Saturday January 28, at around 1pm.
In a Facebook post, her daughter, Samantha Grobbelaar, asked the community to help find her mother.
The post said Ms Stenger would have been on foot or might have used an e-hailing service.
Fish Hoek police spokesman Warrant Officer Peter Middleton said Ms Stengers’ body was found in the Clovelly area on Sunday January 28. He said no foul play was suspected and an inquest has been opened. A post-mortem would be done to determine the cause of her death, he said.
Ms Grobbelaar said there would be a memorial service for her mother on Sunday February 12 at Nuwerus Lodge in Paarl, at 4pm. She invited the community, family and friends to share memories of Ms Stenger, to be published in her memorial letter, by emailing RememberingMelanieStenger@gmail.com by Tuesday February 7, at 8pm.
Ms Grobbelaar said the family would be making a garden for Ms Stenger, and family and friends were welcome to bring a plant for her garden.
