Friday was a day that young Wynberg rugby fan, Joel van der Vent, 11, will never forget.

Having convinced his mom Shantle to drive him in to the city centre for the Springboks’ trophy tour which made its way through Cape Town, Langa and Bonteheuwel, he also got his sister Anna to make him a very special sign.

Joel’s hero, Canan Moodie, born and raised in Paarl, turns 21 on Sunday, so the poster bore a happy birthday message and 21st birthday key.

To Joel’s delight, Moodie spotted Joel and his poster when the bus stopped near the boy and snapped a pic which was later added to the Bok’s Instagram story. Moodie also tossed his cap to his adoring fan.
