The South African Naval Museum fired a nine-inch rifled muzzle loader on Saturday November 11 at 11am to commemorate Armistice Day. Firing the gun were retired SA army Warrant Officer Class 1 Les Gale, Cannon Association of South Africa (CAOSA) member Theo van der Merwe, retired navy Warrant Officer Class 1 and CAOSA chairman Martin Venter, and retired navy Warrant Officer Class 1 and CAOSA member Harry Croome.
