Children from around the world, including the Izivunguvungu MSC Foundation for Youth, commemorated My Freedom Day on Thursday March 14, with an event in Ocean View.
My Freedom Day is an international campaign to raise awareness about human trafficking and slavery, organised by CNN International.
Commander Mike Oldham said it was part of the programme, developing music groups with demonstration lessons during school time.
He said the foundation will soon be establishing its projects in Da Gama Park, demonstrating the unique collection of instruments and equipment and then start a teaching programme aimed at “Celebrating Freedom via Music”.
“Our Sailing and Activities Project in Navy West Yard, Simon’s Town, will also be expanded to include more students from Da Gama Park,” he said.
