GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, in Goodwood, will be shutting down all operations across the complex from Sunday October 20 until Tuesday October 22 for maintenance work. Guests will be able to visit the complex on the Sunday, but, from 10pm, they will be led out. By 11pm, the complex will be closed, and the contractors will take over. Various shifts will come on duty from Tuesday morning as staff prepare for the reopening on Tuesday afternoon. “The shutdown is phase three of our electrical system upgrade. The first and second phases were carried out in February and early October this year. When it is complete our overhauled electrical infrastructure and new generators will be better able to deal with future inconsistencies in grid supply,” said Mervyn Naidoo, the GrandWest general manager.
