Minstrel competition section 2 teams compete in singing categories

Section 2 performers took center stage at this week’s Kaapse Klopse Karnival Association (KKKA) competition, where solo singers and choral groups showcased their talents across a variety of singing categories.

This past Saturday January 18, section 2 troupes, Juvie Boy Entertainers, Philadelphians Sporting Club and Youth Development, Cape Town Hawkers, Ashwin Willemse Orient Community Development, Original District Six Hanover Minstrels, Fabulous Woodstock Starlites, Manenberg Superstars and Mitchell’s Plain Young Tycoons went head-to-head in the Juvenile Sentimental, Adult/Senior Sentimental, English Combined Chorus, Female Sentimental, and Afrikaans Moppie Song categories.The competition is nearing the end as teams now have the final round of categories coming up.

Section 1 winners will be announced on Saturday January 25 after teams compete in the final items, Juvenile combined chorus, Group the crowd favourite Best Band category.
