Fish Hoek Bowling Club hosted the annual Peninsula Blind Bowlers on Sunday March 30. Organiser Marge Upfold said the annual event gives the visually impaired bowlers a unique opportunity to compete on an equal footing, against the sighted Fish Hoek bowlers. “It is an amazing experience for both teams, as the bowlers, some partially sighted and others with little or no sight are guided and positioned by a director who assists them, and this year were thrilled to take first prize,” she said, adding that one player had his 10-year-old grandson as his director. The guests were treated to a day of good weather, tea and lunch ensuring a fun day.
