She was born in Swaziland on March 20, 1968, where her father served as a policeman.
Ms Tainton spent her early years surrounded by family and the values that would guide her life.
She began her career as a graphic designer at FNB Head Office in Sandton during the 1980s and later worked as a framing consultant at the Hout Bay Art Gallery in the 1990s. In the years that followed, she dedicated herself to caring for her parents in their later years and embraced her role as a full-time mother with love and commitment.
Beverley said her mother was deeply passionate about fairness and equality, always reaching out to help the homeless and the less fortunate. She had a strong creative spirit, which she expressed through painting and drawing.
Her love of baking also became a small home business she shared with her daughter. Above all, her children were at the centre of her world.
She is survived by her daughter Beverley, 26, her son Matthew, 16, and her older brothers Richard Tainton, who lives in Tanzania, and Gordon Tainton, who lives in Scotland.
She will be remembered as a kind, strong, creative and generous woman by all those who knew her. Her warmth touched many, and her creativity and love for her family were at the heart of everything she did, said Beverley.
There will be a memorial service for her on Saturday April 12, at 1pm, at St Margaret’s Anglican Church in Fish Hoek.
The service is open to all who knew her. As per her wishes, there will be no viewing or wake, and she will be cremated.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Chariot Health and Fish Hoek Home Nursing for their dedicated care and compassion.
