The 15th edition of World Belly Dance Day, hosted by The Feminine Divine, will take place at the Wave Theatre, 44 Long Street, on Saturday May 17, at 11am.

The showcase will feature belly dance performances from over 20 studios, with dancers from absolute beginners to the Western Cape's award-winning queens performing on the day.

Apart from the performances, there will also be a mass group drum solo lesson and performance at 1.45pm. There will also be a market with belly dance-inspired items on sale.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Rape Crisis, an organisation supporting survivors of sexual violence. Since its inception, World Belly Dance Day has raised over R140 000 for Rape Crisis.

Tickets cost 120 and are available at Quicket. For more information, contact  rougerevue@gmail.com or 083 760 8499. For more information about Rape Crisis, visit rapecrisis.org.za
