The Hands4Change Outreach Projects (H4COP) a local non-profit, formerly known as The Diner’s Club, will be hosting its Fun-Filled comedy fundraising night on Friday July 25.
H4COP coordinator, Diona Kindo said they will be having a fund-raising dinner at The Galley on Fish Hoek Beach, which will cost R400 a person.
The money raised will be to support their H4COP arts academy in Ocean View, which will help boys and girls aged 7 to 18 to take part in their performance arts programme.
“The money raised for this ambitious undertaking is for ballet barres, leotards, tights, arts and crafts things, and drama props. Anything you can think of to help our kids,” she said.
Ms Kindo said that the organisation’s after-school arts and culture programme in Ocean View is aimed at providing creative outlets for youth who may otherwise lack access to such opportunities.
“By fostering artistic expression and cultural awareness, we aim to empower these young individuals, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and cultivate a sense of community,” she said.
Apart from their creative arts programme, H4COP also helps other organisations raise funds and has helped with food parcels, vegetables for soup kitchens, and the need for stationery and books.
Guests at the fund-raiser will be entertained by comedians Alan Committee and Oscar Petersen, with musical entertainment by Stuart Badham-Thornhill later in the evening.
“It took hard work to get these three individuals; they did not hesitate to assist, and the three of them can identify with the arts,” she said.
The fun-filled comedy night will take place at The Galley, Fish Hoek, Beach Road on Friday, July 25, with dinner starting at 6pm and entertainment beginning at 7pm.
