The 2025 Trails in Motion Film Tour is bringing six inspiring stories of trail running to Noordhoek and celebrating the people, communities, and landscapes that make the sport so special.

The screenings will also support Project Noordhoeked, a local initiative dedicated to greening and restoring community spaces.

One of the highlights is Good Will Running, featuring William Chirwa, a member of Project Noordhoeked.

The film follows William, a Malawian living in South Africa, as he balances work, family responsibilities, and his growing passion for trail running.

His journey shows how endurance, curiosity, and a love for nature can inspire both personal growth and community connection.

Another short film will feature Karoline Hanks and her Chappies Everesting challenge from July this year.

Other films in the line-up include Junko, which follows ultrarunner Junko Kazukawa as she takes on the Leadville 100 after moving from Japan and surviving two bouts of cancer.

Les Sommets Libres tells the story of Ulrich N'Djinke, who grew up near the Alps and now inspires young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods to explore nature and trail running.

Mo on the Go showcases Canadian runner Morgan Leroy, sharing how ultra running helps her cope with life’s challenges and connect with the world around her.

Picapica follows Martin Kern as he returns to ultra-distance mountain races in France, pushing himself to rediscover his love for the sport.

Talk to Frank is told from the perspective of a cocker spaniel named Frank, who helps his owner Maleek, overcome depression through trail running, leading them both on a journey of healing and adventure in the mountains.

Attendees will also enjoy a Q&A session with filmmaker Rudi Gremels, William Chirwa, and special guest Bianca Tarboton, a renowned South African trail runner recognised for her exceptional performances in marathons and technical trails.

She has competed internationally, including finishing first in the 35K at the 2023 Ultra-Trail Cape Town and second in the 35K EIGER by UTMB race. Bianca is also a three-time champion of South Africa’s OTTER Trail Race.

A raffle will also be held, with prizes including race entries, wine, and running gear.

The screenings will take place at Café Roux, Noordhoek, on Tuesday, October 28, and Thursday, October 30. Tickets cost R180, and the films start at 6:30 pm, with doors opening from 5:30 pm.

Book your tickets for the October 28 screening at Quicket and for the October 30 screening at Quicket.
