The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Northam, within the Waterburg District of Limpopo, is grappling with a case involving the deaths of a 33-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman.

Limpopo police are investigating a murder and an inquest after the bodies of a man and woman, believed to be a couple were found at a house in Northam in Limpopo.
"Information at our disposal suggests that the two were in a love relationship and also staying. together," Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.
He added that the duo were last seen on Christmas Day, at about 23h45 at a local tavern.
Police said the 24-year-old woman was found laying in the bed and the 34-year-old man was found hanging from the roof of the house.
"Their bodies were already in an advanced state of decomposition."
Police said the motive behind this "shocking incident" is unknown, adding that at this stage a "domestic-related dispute" could not be ruled out.
"The identity of the deceased will be made public in due course, though the woman is said to be from Lesotho."
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the incident and urged people in romantic relationships to seek professional assistance when they experience relationship challenges.
Police investigations are continuing.
Last week, three male suspects appeared before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court for allegedly robbing and killing a 59-year-old man from Sebayeng Township near Polokwane in Limpopo.
The matter was postponed until January 3, 2025, to allow the accused time to seek legal representation and prepare their bail applications.
It is alleged that on July 21, 2024, the three suspects forced their way into the man’s home, attacking him and then strangling him to death before ransacking the house and fleeing with an undisclosed sum of money.
Paramedics declared the man deceased at the scene, and police opened a case of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances. Their early investigations revealed that the victim had received a lump sum of cash.
Following a prolonged investigation into the matter, three suspects were identified and located and police arrested them on December 18.
However, Saps said in a statement that more arrests were likely to take place soon.
