The main hall of the Fish Hoek civic centre was a feast for the eyes on Saturday, October 1, for the Fish Hoek Garden Club’s garden expo and flower show. There was a variety of stalls selling plants and visitors enjoyed some tea and cake in the minor hall. There was a large display of flower arrangements in various categories ranging from decorative, fruit, herbs, and vegetables, pot plants, and cut garden flowers indigenous to South Africa, among others. The Fish Hoek Garden Club’s first prize for cut flowers and the Peter van der Walt cup for best exhibit cut flower (exotic) and award for best on show went to Trevor Joseph’s display of purple and white pansies.
