Hands4Change Outreach Projects (H4COP), formerly known as The Diner’s Club, will be hosting its next fund-raising event next month.
H4COP, under its The Dining Club banner, hosts three-course meals at various locations in the far south to raise funds for community outreach projects (“Diner’s Club changing lives one meal at a time,” Echo, July 18, 2024).
Co-founder of H4COP, Diona Kindo, said the organisation changed its name from The Diner’s Club to H4COP to make it more inclusive.
“We have been working tirelessly to bring about meaningful change in our community. Our dedication to empowering the underprivileged and addressing pressing social issues has been met with overwhelming support from compassionate individuals and organisations and together, we can make an even greater impact and transform lives for the better,” she said.
The next event will take place on Thursday February 27 at 7pm at Kommetjie Primary School hall. The cost is R170 a person and all proceeds will go to creating an arts hub in Ocean View.
Diners can expect a break from the usual dining experience, said Ms Kindo.
The evening will be filled with entertainment from singer-songwriter Craig Lucas, local artist and singer Morgan Visser, and Ocean View’s Street Kidz Dance Crew who will showcase their dancing talents.
Diners can bring their own food and drinks and tables and chairs will be provided.
Ms Kindo said, as usual, the event will also offer excellent networking opportunities, allowing diners to connect with other like-minded individuals and organisations that share a passion for creating a better society.
Ms Kindo said diners are also encouraged to sponsor tickets for others to enjoy the show.
She said H4COP was looking for volunteers, teachers, and mentors to assist with the arts hub project.
She said they were looking for music, drama, and dance teachers, singing/voice coaches, martial arts instructors, and arts and crafts teachers to volunteer.
