Former long-time Fish Hoek resident, Sybil Lorraine Ferguson (nee Houbert), passed away on Monday December 18.
Born on August 22 1923, Ms Ferguson marked her 100th birthday this year (“Celebrating 100 years”, False Bay Echo, November 16).
She passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Lodge in Plumstead on Monday.
Moving from Pretoria to Fish Hoek in the early 1990s, Ms Ferguson was an active member of the Methodist Church, played tennis until 89 years old, was a member of various bridge clubs until the age of 95 and had a wonderful network of friends throughout the Fish Hoek valley.
Her family said she lived a full and fruitful life. Her motto of “a little bit of everything, always” stood her in good stead as she was in good health for the vast majority of her life, they told the False Bay Echo.
