A Glencairn woman was reunited with her wedding ring at the Phoenix Hall voting station at midnight on Monday after it fell into a ballot box. Mark and Tania Mandall went to cast their votes at 5pm on Monday. Mr Mandall said his wife’s ring came off when she dropped her ballot paper into the ballot box and the box could not be opened as it was sealed. He said IEC presiding Officer Nazli Baker was called and she “promised” to call the couple once the ballot boxes had been opened. He said he got the call that they had found the ring just before midnight and collected it from Ms Baker. “We are so grateful to her for her help,” he said. Pictured here is Ms Baker handing over the ring to Mr Mandall.
