I have been looking into the matter of “Peppermint Palace”, the empty building across the road from Muizenberg station.
The building inspector has been in contact with the representatives of the deceased owner. The building has been sold to a developer. This will finally change the derelict building into a space that will add value to the community instead of being an ongoing safety risk. I will be meeting with the developer and representatives of the City to discuss a concrete way forward. We appre-ciate the patience the community has displayed in this ongoing saga and hope to get things going
on site as soon as possible.
