Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Ben Tuzee, 51, the co-owner of Dixies Restaurant & Bar in Glencairn.
Mr Tuzee was stabbed multiple times during a hijacking in Browns Farm, Philippi, on Tuesday last week.
Police spokesman Captain Ian Bennett said Nyanga police officers arrested a 16-year-old boy and two men, aged 18 and 23, on Monday September 12.
Mr Tuzee had been en route to Philippi with his niece, Kaele Lombard, to deliver a TV she had sold on Marketplace and which the buyer had asked her to deliver.
Kaele’s car was taken and she was struck in the back with a rock but was otherwise unharmed.
Captain Bennett said the 16-year-old suspect, who will be tried as a juvenile, appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday September 13.
The other two suspects were due to appear in court on Wednesday September 14. They have been charged with murder and hijacking.
