The South African Weather Service is predicting scorching temperatures and thunderstorms over various regions of the country.

The South African Weather Service (Saws) issued warnings for thunderstorms and high temperatures across different parts of the country on Sunday.
According to Saws, mostly warm to hot temperatures are expected across the country, however, very hot temperatures are expected in the central parts. Temperatures are expected to peak with a maximum of 42°C.
Saws also issued three different yellow level warnings for various parts of South Africa.
A yellow level two warning for severe thunderstorms has been issued for parts of Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, North-West, and the Free State.
Two yellow level one warnings have been issued for damaging winds expected over parts of the Western Cape, the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, and the Free State.
Saws said that rain and showers can be expected along the south-west coast, with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected over the eastern parts of the country with the associated weather alerts.
Isolated showers and scattered showers can be expected to hit parts of the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, North West, Free State, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Gauteng.
The rainy weather is expected to continue until Monday and Tuesday with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms expected over the central and eastern parts of the country, according to Saws.
While some parts of the country will be experiencing rainy weather, hot temperatures are expected to continue into the early of this coming week.
The temperatures for Monday and Tuesday will range from warm, to hot to very hot for various parts of the country however some parts of the country will also be experiencing cool weather.
