Catherine Pitt, Joyce Chevalier Centre manager
Dear community of Fish Hoek and surrounds, thank you for your support over the recent months amid our funding crises. We appreciate your donations and calls of support.
We have had a cut in our funding from the two government departments with whom we have had contracts (“Budget cuts threaten Joyce Chevalier Centre,” Echo, February 22).
This has left a monthly deficit of around R10 000 per month. We will be increasing our fund-raising efforts and our fees and will cut our expenditure.
However, the centre will remain open and continue to offer services to persons with intellectual disability.
If you would like to support the centre in any way, you are welcome to contact me at the centre on 021 782 2126.
