Mitchell’s Plain’s Mika-eel Jacobs may soon become the talk of the boxing world if his attitude inside the squared circle continues the way it’s begun.
The youngster not only possesses the timing that makes him one to watch but also carries power and sharp ring awareness.
At Cabo Beach over the weekend, Jacobs followed up on last month’s win with a quick, vicious knockout of Luthando Mkwini.
The KO earned him a sweet bonus in his paycheck, as he was awarded Knockout of the Night at another thrilling installment of Fight Island.

The victory, his third as a professional, follows another emphatic first-round stoppage, when he travelled up north to Johannesburg and knocked out Sacha Thesner in the first round. At the weekend, Jacobs used the opening round of his junior welterweight bout to study his opponent before dropping him in the second round, improving his record to 3-0.
He made his professional debut at the same seaside venue just two months ago and is already establishing himself as a firm fan favourite.

In earlier interviews, the 19-year-old spoke of his admiration for Gervonta “Tank” Davis, one of this generation’s finest fighters, and expressed hopes of following a similar career path.
That dream might not be far-fetched with Ashley Whiteboy guiding him from the corner.
The experienced trainer not only steered Jacobs to his third pro win at the weekend but also oversaw former SA title challenger Shameeg Williams, who got the nod from all three judges in a well-calculated six-round junior lightweight contest against Mvuzo Kotobe.
