Lentegeur crowned high schools volleyball champs

Lentegeur High School and Ocean View’s Marine Primary Schools volleyball squads were crowned winners in their respective divisions at last month’s Top Schools championships, at the Western Cape Sports School in Kuils River, and at the Lavender Hill Shared Facility.  The participating high schools were, Lentegeur, South Peninsula, John Ramsey High, Bishop Lavis,  Grassdale, Glendale High, German International School (DSK), Spine Road, Pelican Park, Heathfield High, Plumstead, Lotus, and JG Meiring. Lentegeur beat South Peninsula  21-16 and 21 -17 in the boys’ under-17 final to claim the cup in their section. In the girls' under-17 division, Grassdale High beat Lentegeur High  21-18 and 21-17 to clinch the title.

In the Metro South Education District (MSED) primary schools playoffs, defending champions, Ocean View’s Marine Primary, beat former champions Hyacinth Primary in the girls’ under-14 division. In the boys under-14 section, Lotus River’s St Clement’s RC  Primary beat Lentegeur’s West End Primary School in their championship final match
