Louis Vuitton and Tyler, The Creator announce Spring 2024 Men’s Capsule Collection
Louis Vuitton has revealed its Spring 2024 Men’s Capsule Collection in collaboration with Tyler, The Creator.
The collection, a brainchild of Pharrell Williams' vision at Louis Vuitton, showcases Tyler's artistic lens and embodies the LVERS community—an artistic network united by an appreciation for Louis Vuitton's discernment and craftsmanship.
This collaboration extends the ongoing partnership between Louis Vuitton and Tyler, The Creator, who recently curated the soundtrack for the Fall-Winter 2022 Men’s Show.
The collection seamlessly blends Tyler, The Creator's signature preppy style with Pharrell Williams' sophisticated dandy aesthetic.
The Craggy Monogram, hand-drawn by Tyler, takes center stage, featuring in various items such as down jackets, windbreakers, denim ensembles, raincoats, leather varsity jackets, and more.
Trans-seasonal silhouettes, daisies, and Airedale Terriers hidden within LV Flowers, and uneven shapes of the Craggy Monogram are recurrent themes.
The grass-green Damier pattern appears on bags with floral charms and Airedale Terrier-motif lining.
Footwear embraces the collection's themes, including re-imagined LV Dandy loafers, LV Waves derby boots, LV Waffle slides, LV Flower sandals, and the LV Trainer in various colourways and materials.
Caps, bucket hats, scarves, chunky gold-effect metal chains, rings, necklaces, bracelets, Monogram Tribute sunglasses, and unique accessories like a Craggy Monogram cereal bowl with a matching spoon and golf accessories complement the collection.
Pharrell Williams, Men’s Creative Director, emphasizes the unique collaboration, extending the LVERS philosophy, while Tyler, The Creator expresses his focus on creating pieces he would personally wear, with a highlight being the chessboard.
In Tyler's words, “My main focus was making things I would wear all the time. I dress the same in a meeting as I do a performance or grocery store trip, so hand drawing the monogram felt like the perfect balance to me.
“The chessboard is one of the greatest things I've made and is definitely my favourite thing from the collection. The team was great to work with, it kinda felt like 'Big' with Tom Hanks. P has always left a door open for me, but I still can’t believe this one.”
